have a hemerroid on the outside and 2 on the inside

i have a hemerroid on the outside and 2 on the inside. they are not painful but i do not want them there anymore due to sexual reason. the doctor suggested surgery but said its very painful and takes 2 weeks to heal. are there risks with this? if so what kind? what would you suggest?
