Immunosuppressives

Immunosuppressives prevent or reduce the body's normal reaction to invasion by disease or foreign tissues. They are used to treat autoimmune diseases and to help prevent rejection of organ transplants. Zathioprine, adrenal corticosteroid hormones, and cyclosporin are the most widely used immunosuppressive drugs.

What disease is treated with Immunosuppressives?

I would like to know what disease is treated with Immunosuppressives? Why they so important? I heard a lot of different stories about this kind of drugs and now I’m not sure what are they exactly and what are they used for. So, anybody who knows something about this, tell me, please.
