Broken Knee..cracking and popping sound

My 17 year old son recently broke his knee. He had emergency surgery July 4th and another July 15th. Since yesterday his knee makes a popping and cracking sound every time he bends it. Is this normal??

Can I remove my sons arm cast myself? Lost my job and don't have the money.

Stiffness in my body after a fall
