Bleeding after stopping for 7 months

I am 56. Have had very mild signs of perimenapause. Slight hot flases, 10 lbs weight gain, I had a normal period about 7 months again and then nothing. I thought I was sailing through this just fine right into menapause. Has this happened to anyone else? Thank you.
