Sore Vaginal tissue after op for hysterectomy for prolapse

I had a prolapsed bowel womb and bladder. I had a vaginal hysterectomy retaining my overies. 3 weeks on I have more abdominal paid and anal pain. The skin around the entrance to my vagina is sore and swollen. Is this normal? I am in my early 40s.
