Alright, so I've had what feels and looks like a "diaper rash" for about three, going on four months now. I'm a 17 year old girl, never had sex or even worn a tampon before. I've been having some bright redness on my perineum, near the insides of my buttocks, and slightly on the lower outside part of my vaginal lips (not my labia, to be specific.) For the past few months, it hasn't gotten worse nor better. It hasn't spread, either. I've noticed it becomes irritated and itchy when I tend to wipe too rough after going #2. The rash isn't covering my anus, but rather just the skin around it. I haven't had any cottage cheese discharge, or any smelly or weird looking discharge at all, for that reason. I'm not having any discomfort or pain inside or outside of my vagina. I've tried looking everything up on the Internet, but not really any luck. just today I noticed some flaking, dry specks of skin around the buttocks area, where the redness ends. They weren't bloody scabs or anything, just dry specks of skin. I suffer from PCOS and haven't been taking any meds for a few months now, so I'm thinking maybe hormones have something to play in this? I've never gotten this type of rash before and never for such a long period of time. I shower and clean myself well daily, no soaps or anything inside my vagina. When I use the feminine type of cortisone cream it does help, but the redness is still there. I can see some spots of my natural skintone peeking through in the midst of the redness, so I know it can't be severe if some of my healthy skin is coming through. I was taking some birth control a while back to help with my PCOS, so maybe that killed some of my good bacteria and now I'm stuck to suffer with this thing. Any opinions on what this is or what I could do to help this go away is greatly appreciated.

Use Vaseline. Superb for nappy rash protection.
