type 1 diabetes speach problems

Was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes 32 years ago. I have been on pump therapy fo the last 6 years. I have noticed problems with my speach if you will, flowing of words etc. Is this possibly caused by the prolonged diabetes, reactions etc?
