Large Breast Mass post hysterectomy, no HRT

I am a 37 year old female with a large mass close to my chest wall. I had a complete hysterectomy years ago and do not take hormone replacements. Should I assume that the mass is cancer or are there other options? I have been to the Dr. & have a mammo scheduled.
