Does dementia cause nerve damage

My 50 years old sister has AD and dementia and undergone an AKA amputaion. Vascular doctors said that she has a " momyfied" legs for a period of time and the main nerve is dead. Does dementia cause nerve damage ? thanks and God bless those who suffer such a thing

My mother has been having problems with memory, emotions running high and alot of fear lately. She cant eat solid food so she likes lobster bisque which is high in fat.She eats it alot. She is 92 and could these symptons be related to her diet?

my dad has been on a vent for a couple of days.the doctor thought we should say our goodbyes,then they weaned him off the vent and as of this writing he was holding his own. will he need to be put back on the vent?Once this happens how long do we have with him?

will treatment cure dementia if brain scan found it was due

My father is in early dementia. The doctor advises him to take the brain scan to exclude infarct, but if the scan showed infarct, what could be done about it? The doctor hasn't explained that to us. Thanks for your time.
