Taking Metronidazol and got my period too soon.

I am taking a seven day dosage of Metronidazole and in my 4th day of taking 500ml twice a day I got my period. Now, I shouldn't have it for another week and  a half and I haven't changed anything about my body that would make my period be irregular. Can anyone tell me if this is the medication...
