colposcopy, the pill, delay period

I had a colposcopy recently and just found out that I have to go in for treatment. However, it seems very likely that I will have my period on the day of my appointment (and it's the only day I can go) and I was wondering it would be ok to start the pill (mid-cycle) to delay my period by a week?

periods after breastfeeding

I stopped breastfeeding my son about 4 weeks ago and still have not started my period. I breastfed him for 8 months. I cant remember how long it took with my other 2 children. How long until I should begin periods again post breastfeeding?
