periods are much shorter than they used to be!

Any way of stopping my period?

I usually have my period for 3 days, I have now had it for 5 days, I have a really important day tomorrow and I don't want to be in discomfort all day, so is there anything I could possibly do to stop my period now?? And suggestions would be very much appreciated!!
