Cramping a week before period is due, is this normal?

I'm experiencing cramping today and I'm not sure why, my period is due next week, (always very predictable since i'm on the pill) but i've never had cramps this early before my period. maybe a few days in advance but never this. Is this normal

Very light and watery period which came a week after my regular period ended

my period ended like 2 weeks ago and a week later i got it again it was 6 days long and was light watery with a lot if clots then when that one ended i had like 3 days without it and its stared again. this previous Sunday January 31st I started taking birth control could that be the cause?
