heroin to methadone

i have been useing heroin i.v. for the past 2 years.(oneandahalf to 3 grams day)istarted methadone maintenence 4 days ago "starting @20 mg day increasing 5mg daily" when will i start to feel the methadone working i just continue to feel totaly dope sick

I keep reading how using Perc's right after stopping subs wont let u get high. That's not what I am looking for. I am wondering using the percs with keep the symptoms of Sub withdrawal away (sweats, anxiety , diahrea , running nose etc etc) dont want to get high just dont want to feel like crap...
