Numbness in fingers

I went to bed with a nasty headache. When I awoke I felt a differenc in my left hand when attempting to button my shirt (Numbness). An hour or two later I felt a bruise approximately 5 inches on my arm near my palm. By the end of the day the tender area had turned purple.
