Pain in my head behind my eat

Hi, I would like to hear a bit more about encephalitis. A friend of mine had this serious condition but with a little luck he pulled through without any consequences. It seems like he developed that illness thanks to varicella virus that attacked him. Can encephalitis be caused by bacteria?

Sudden both legs in pain and weakness
