swollen glands on foreskin

I recently visited a doctor to ask about small bumps on my foreskin, he said that they were due to swollen glands on the foreskin and are harmless but there really isn't much I could do to get rid of them. Is that true or is there something that can be prescribed or done to get rid of them?
