Is it normal to be bleeding a day after sex or have I started my period?

Okay so I just had sex for the first time last night and I bled and it hurt horribly probably the worst pain I've ever felt. I'm supposed to start my period in two days, is it normal that I haven't stopped bleeding? Did my period just start or is it just from the sex?
