burning pain in middles of shoulder radiating across to spin

I went to a physiotherapist and he strapped my shoulders back together. It was instant relief. He said it was caused from sitting in front of a computer all day, but he didn't say what it was called. Something about the muscles being stretched I think. Is there a proper medical name for it.
