So recently I have been having this cough and sore throat since this past sunday. On wednesday I started noticing that there is blood in my mucous when I cough and spit it out. Now I am worried that if I cough its going to hurt my throat. I tried taking cough drops and nothing.

Coolness in the back of my throat and on my tongue

I quite smoking about 2 months ago and I didn't notice it until I quit smoking and at night time I wake up with this and it seems like it is worse at night time when it wakes me up. My doctor put me on prevaced for acid reflex. Could you please ease my mind.
