How long to wait after anti-biotics?

My wife is currently on anti-biotics for a cold and we are aware that her taking the anti-biotics "cancels" out the BC pills. Our question is how long should we wait when she finishes the meds before the BC pills then become effective again? Thanks for any help that you can give.
