My vagina bleeds when i shave because my pubes are so thick.

So I was shaving and I only shave about once or twice a week and notice red dots of blood where each hair was and I believe it's because my hair down there is so thick and I know they're not razor cuts but this doesn't usually happen. Is there anyway I can make my hair thinner?
