side effects of antidepressants weight loss

Hi, folks. My daughter has been diagnosed with depression and her therapist recommends antidepressants. I am not sure if she will take them, especially since she is on a diet. I have heard that side effects of these drugs can affect weight loss. Is this true? I would like to hear what you think....
