Longer and heavier period because of implant?

Hi there, i have had the implant fitted on the 17th July 2010. And have got my period, its lasted longer and its heavier than normal. is this normal? Also i have loads more spots on my face and back, beings im 17 thought i might of grown out of it by now. any ideas of cures? Thanks.
