Can the morning after pill mess up your hormones?

I would like to know if the morning after pill can delay your period? I had unprotected sex on the 7/12/09, took the morning after pill 16hrs later. Got my period two days later. I had a pregnancy blood test 3 weeks after taking the morning after pill because my boobs started to get really tender....
