I noticed that my leg is smaller then my other leg following the femur surgery

I broke my left femur bone November 2009 and had a rod placed in my leg.I am able to walk and recently went skating and was unable to straighten my leg for about 4 months.The pain is not as bad anymore and I can extend my leg but I notice that my leg is smaller then my other leg.....any suggestions...
