pain in heart area, neck and left arm after eating

my husband experiences this overwhelming pain in his neck, left arm and in the area around his heart. These symptoms are sporadic and appear after he has had an unusually large meal. aside from telling him to stop eating large meals...could this be something else? should he see a physician?
