Is crepitation in the wound a sign of the gaseous gangrene?

Hi, folks. My friend got a wound few days ago. He is hospitalized. As a sign, there is a crepitation in the wound. I would really like to know if this is a sign of the gaseous gangrene. I would really appreciate if someone could share this piece of info with me. Thank you in advance.
