Side effects of Zocor

My cholestoral is high and my doctor put me on Zocor. I have only been takingi t for a week. Starting yesterday, the glands in my neck began to get alittle sore. Today they are killing me. Could this be from the Zocor or is it just a cold or the flu coming on and I'm worrying for nothing?
