period, brownish pale blood. stop and starting.

I got my period a week ago. im take the pill, and afta 4 days it stopped by startes again and stopped but has been brownish. when I wipe there is some pale blood but mostly faded yellow. I herd it might be old blood, because I skipped a month. what's wrong? please help
