Menstrual Cycle lasting 3+weeks

I am a 47 yr old female and my periods have always lasted no more than 7 days and thats alot if it lasted that long. Well I have had my period for the last 3 weeks and I dont know why. Can you tell me what might cause this to happen. My breasts are also tender at times too.

Diabetes and Menstration.
