Is it normal to feel like your bleeding???

Hi Ive just found out im 5 1/2 weeks pregnant and i keep thinking im going to start my period any day now. I get a tingling sensation below like i do when im bleeding. Is this normal? Has anybody else had this before? Please help as im a first time mum to be.
