dark brown discharge during pregnancy first trimester

about three weeks ago i found out that i was pregnant. i am currently eight weeks. recently (last three days) i've noticed a very dark discharge. it is brown in shade. i'm very worried. i do not have any pain but i'm worried if this is harmful and is this a sign that i may miscarry.
