I had a baby 8wks ago. I recently started a new bcp Loestrin 24, I have had some spotting. Now I have a foul smell while having intercourse. I have no discharge. What can this be?

i have been back to thespecialist today and she said that thew reason i bleed during intercourse is i have glands coming through my cervix which rupture when touched. she said that i need them removed and has booked an op, what occurs during the op and how long will i need off work?
