Very painful pimple-like growth on lip of vagina

I've had a pimple on the outer lip of my vagina for over several weeks. It seemed to go away, but has come back and is more painful than ever. Not sure what could have caused it, but it's too painful to try and remove. Other than shaving down there, I haven't had too much activity in the area....
