"Mass like lesion"

The radiologist read my 20 year old son's MRI and said he found "mass like lesion" in his upper thigh. It's approximately 2 centimeters. He urged him to go back for another MRI. He's had pain in his thigh, but said it's not bad now. What do you think the doctor will be looking for?
