Will I be able to be home alone after sugery?

So hard to type...hand is numb..but will I be able to be alone when I get out of hospital. Use restroom alone...prepare lite meals...all the day to day stuff??? I generally don't do well with painkillers (although I simply HAVE TO) they often make me vomit. How the heck will that go with stitches?!...
