Epidural pain injections in the lumbar area

I was scheduled to have an epidural pain shot in my lumbar area this coming Monday at noon and then have to fly out at 8pm and my doctor cancelled me and said that the cabin pressure of the plane will give me a massive headache or worse a possible stroke is this true?
