Lump in Scrotum

Of recent, (about 5 weeks ago) i noticed that my scrotum has grown in size. on examination (by feeling it with my hand) i could feel a kind of lump, close to the right testicle. There is no pain whatsoever, but i'm disturbed. Is it normal, or can that be a symptom of anything abnormal?
