I accidentally swallowed some skin while biting my fingers. ( about 2 weeks ago) and it feels like its stuck inside my throat. spitting blood

Hi I've had a cold for about a wk now. I spit constantly. This morning for the first time I found specs of blood in the mucus. I am worried because I've been exposed to second hand smoke all my life and get fever and sore throat if I smell it now. Should I be worried?
