2yr. Old only coughing at night???

ok so i started off with flu but the cough didnt go away.... so like its been goin on for like 2 weeks now im confused cuz its like really bad dry cough... it was so constant that i thought it would be pneumonia but they gave me albuterol but that dont seem to work so um... no idea...
