compressed nerve pain

My 50 year old son has a compressed nerve in the L4 &L5 region of the spine. No medication dulls the pain. He is waiting for surgery. Can you suggest anything that might help the pain?

I took an unpresribed oxcontin, I'm 34 wks preg. Its been 3 days since I took it, so It's out of my system, will it be in my babys when she's born.

Ive been on 10mg lortab for about 6 - 7 weeks 2-3 times daily. I would like to wean off of them so i have no withdrawals.. How would i do that? I took 2 7.5's yesterday and didnt sleep well and felt weird this morning till i took another 7.5 at 7:00a.m. And my last does was at 2:00PM the day before.
