I gotta say I'm glad I found this place. IT's helped me out the last few days that I've been going through hell. Here is what I have had done
This post might be long but I'm hoping to help some people out with what I have had.
I have been having lots of surgeries on my left kidney and left ureter. I was born with a pinch in the left side. I have had about 30 surgeries on it to try and fix it. I have had 3 urologist that have worked on my and I havn't been able to get any relief at all. I've been taking perks pretty much constantly for the last 5 years. The las 5 months as I've been waiting to get into the OR cause my kidney had pretty much quit and was diseased the doc said and it needed to come out.
I am 24 years old and only have one kidney now. I was afraid of withdrawls as I didn't know if I can do any other damage to my other organs. The doc I went to told me to just quit cold Turkey. So I have. But I had something to help me out
I've had the with drawls before and sometime I would be awake for like 2-3 days with the Chills, goose bumps, sweats, depression, Pretty much hell on earth.
Now with what I'm going through it's alot worse. I'm hoping some of the things that I have gone through and done might help someone else.
What I find helps gets me throught the withdrawls is for the first 3 days or so that you get the chills and are cold have a hot shower about every 2-3 hours. and I don't mean just in and out. Stay in there as long as you can.
Watch what you eat and drink. Try staying away from cold drinks ( pops, juice, anything like that) I've been drinking Tea and Hot Chocolate. I've been drinking a good amount of room temp water bottles with those crystal light flavour packs in them. Also with your food you eat you might be sitting on the toilet for abit. Try eating some food to help bind you up to make it easier like Toast and cheese.
Try your best to keep your mind of things. I know at times it's oh so very hard. All day today I've mostly been in bed with tears coming out and it feels like I'm trying to get out of my own skin.
Watch movies if you can stay still. Read a book. play Video games, play games on your cellphone. just try to keep ur mind going.
Nowow when it comes to sleep I was up for 3 days before and you feel like hell. So I went to my Doctor and for a prescription for "Rhovane" Apparently it's a non habit formming sleeping pill. I've been on it for months and it really helps alot. with out it i wouldn't be able to write this. I think I would be going nuts running around my house.
Some people try taking gravol to get to sleep. I don't recommend it at all. I tried it before and had restless legs and arms till 8am and then broke down in tears. if you don't know what restless legs and arms is it's when ur arms and legs feel like they need to keep moving and that you need to keep stretching them
