Antianxiety Drugs (Sedatives)

Antianxiety drugs depress the central nervous system and suppress anxiety, sleepiness and relax muscles. They are also called downers or minor tranquilizers. When abused, many of these drugs can lead to unconsciousness and death. Sedatives include: barbiturates, benzodiazepines, carisoprodol, glutethimide, ketamine (Ketaset®), opioids, opium, and zopiclone. Talk about all antianxiety drugs on this forum.

Zanex vs. Diazepam

When my dad passed away my sister gave be a Zanex pill and it made it much easier on me during the funeral.  Yesterday my grandaughter passed away and my Dr. gave me a prescription of Diazepam.  I took one today but I didn't feel it worked as well.  Does that make sense?
