Trazodone for insomnia

My doc prescribed 100 mg trazodone at night for insomnia. Problem is, when I take it, my heart races and I still do not fall asleep. Has anyone else had this problem? Did it go away? Did the trazodone work?

How do you cut Trazadone dose to less than 1 capsule? How do you taper it?

Hi I am trying to cut down on Trazodone. From 100mg to 50mg SLOWLY. I tried dissolving the contents of the capsule in water but it does not dissolve. It took me from 100mg to 50 in 1 shot. Ouch.
