i was on the shot and i bled for 8 months, then went to pills and I wasn't bleeding for 2 months

i know this was along time ago but i was on the shot and i bled for 8 months straight then went to pills and I wasnt bleeding for the first two in a half months but at the end of the second month i started bleeding and ive been bleeding for 12 days now and i dont know what to do

is Nuva ring less effective the 4th week?

My doctor told me to leave ring in for 4 weeks then swap it out with a new one? Positive side effect... No period... Downfall is after intercourse every couple months or so... Its a bright red blood... its happened twice now and Ive been on Nuvaring for 6 months...Not heavy enough for a cycle......
