Trying to conceive..No luck

 i had my son 8years ago. About 2 almost 3 years ago we deiced we wanted to try for another child i got off birth control and we aren't having any luck. i have tried  the test to see when im ovulating and the calenders still no luck. Tryed the things where it says keep your legs up for about 5/10...

I got off the shot after it caused me to gain 70 lbs. It has been about 2 years now and the doctor said that it takes 2-3 years for it to completely run out of your system. I'm wondering if it could cause me to miss a period while it's leaving now because I am a little over a week late for my period...
