life after depo

i was on depo for about 9 months and gained about 25 pounds.I decided to discontinue the shot because of the abnormal period cycle. when i discontinued the shot i started losing weight slowly. after a year of not being on depo i lost the 25 pounds that i gained when i began the shot. Is this normal?
