Urinary incontinence from catheter

Hi, I was wondering if a urethral catheter of of 22 fr to 24 fr can cause damage to the bladder or sphincter due to the size? I have been having problems ever since I had to have a catheter for problems I have had. I have had no surgery in that area either. thanks.
