Anyone know about foot curling related to neurological disorders?

My foot seems to be curling downward, looks kind of like dropfoot, but it's not painful & I have plenty of control & flexibility, unlike dropfoot. My podiatrist suggested an EMG & conductive nerve conduction test for a possible neurological connection. Any ideas?
